INTRODUCTION VIDEO

In this video, I explain why I wrote Church(ing) Kids and the importance of spiritually training our children at home and at church!

Over 80% of Christian teens graduate from their faith when they graduate from high school.1
Is that something Christian parents should already be concerned with when they have young children? Absolutely! The earlier the better!

There’s more parents can do to help their children engage and stay in church than take them to church, hand them over to the paid staff, and hope for the best.

With over 25 years of youth ministry experience, over 10 years of professional children’s ministry experience, and living in the midst of raising three kids of my own, I’ve written the book Church(ing) Kids: 4 Keys for Keeping Your Children Engaged in Church to empower parents to disciple their children at home and at church!

Church(ing) Kids covers four areas of discipleship we can focus on with our children to help them understand how to know, love, and share Jesus at church as children, teens, and adults.
Church(ing) Kids empowers parents to learn how to:

  1. intentionally spiritually train our children at home, how that benefits our children’s faith, and how it carries over into their adult faith.
  2. Involve our children in Big Church to experience intergenerational worship, connect with the church family, and filter what they hear in church.
  3. Train our children how to serve in church with a Church Skill Set, giving them skills to help them immediately plug into another church and have deeper bonds with their church now.
  4. Involve our children in Age/Stage Groups so they can learn how to learn the Bible on their level, serve their peers, and experience even more benefits from their childhood church experience.

Church(ing) Kids is for all of us (parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and church leaders, everyone) who want to combat that unnecessary statistic and help our children and teens' faith roots grow and keep growing in the church.

“I’m so thankful for people in the trenches of the church who are leading the way to reach the next generation. Enough of the doom and gloom outlook on our future – what can we do today to impact children and students that actually moves the needle? No surprises, it starts in the home and in strong partnership with the church. Beth shows how to do both, and believes this generation isn’t lost, but needs our help to find the way. I couldn’t agree more!”

"Mind-blowing! These four keys are Biblical, simple, and profound. If families put these keys into practice, the next generation will, instead of leaving the church, multiply God’s kingdom across the globe!”

“4 Keys to Keeping Your Kids Engaged in Church is a must-read to help Christian parents equip their kids in a lasting faith. Beth Meverden gives practical insights to help parents know what steps to take in family discipleship, prioritizing church and youth group involvement, and equipping kids to serve the body of Christ. I love the specific examples she gives, resources she provides, and end-of chapter questions to practically equip families to grow in each key area of discipleship. Thank you, Beth, for providing such a wonderful resource!”
